Suffer A Sea Change tells the story of Libby Adams, nanny and tutor to a troubled tech millionaire’s equally troubled son and daughter aboard a yacht bound for the Caribbean. By earning their confidence, she is able unravel a conspiracy aimed at the family—including the millionaire’s wife, who suffers from a mysterious illness. Libby’s investigation leads to murder on a storm-tossed night.
Meanwhile, Libby tries hard not to fall in love with the yacht’s captain. It’s a reluctance born of her long-held distrust of men—all thanks to an overbearing father.
It combines the gothic atmosphere of Mary Stewart, the brassy narrative voice of Raymond Chandler, and the love-heals-all, feel-good conclusion of a Hallmark mystery.
The book would be Dave Dentel’s first published novel.
